All programs at the LaRue County Detention Center are structured to create an environment for positive change in the offender's life, so they can better serve the community as productive citizens when released.
- GED - Classes to prepare and improve individuals for final testing to obtain their GED certificate.
- NA/AA- classes are done weekly
- CHURCH SERVICES- two days per week
INMATE WORK DETAILS
Inmates can work to earn credit during incarceration with the following locations.
Kitchen- The Kitchen works 12 inmates to prepare the food for the detention center 6 inmates on each shift with a supervisor from Kellwell foods.
STATE ROAD CREWS
Larue County Detention Center has a contract with the state barns in this area to do mowing, road cleanup, cut trees and work around the State Barns. We work 6 inmates per crew in Green County, Hardin County, Larue County and Nelson County. This is a good program that teaches the inmates various trades.
